Littlefoot: Solved

After months of partial and fleeting sightings, I finally got a good, daylight, full body look at Littlefoot.

Littlefoot (because it gets to keep its name, of course) is, in fact, the world's largest, weirdest cat.

It's solid black with medium length fur.

Its face is pushed in like a Persian cat's and it has huge deep-set yellow eyes.

Its ears are small, round, and tufted.

Its hindquarters are higher than its shoulders, and it tends to hop on its powerful hind legs, altho it can also move in a more normal manner before it's startled by something. Hopping seems to be a ground-covering gait.

It has like a 1/3 of a tail that moves and twitches like a short furry snake.

Its feet are huge, it's very heavy-boned, and although I won't guess the weight of a fluffy animal without laying hands on it, it's decidedly chonky and stout.

In fact, it has many qualities of a bobcat, but it's not as big as those I've seen around. Could it be a hybrid? It's not common but not unheard of and there is no lack of truly feral cats in these parts and no lack of bobcats, either. Honestly, the only reason we probably don't have an entirely new breed of Littlefoots is that like a horse/donkey cross or a llama/alpaca cross, the offspring would be almost 100% sterile.

Anyhoo.

I guess that's that.

Now.

If I could just figure out what the hell came up through my shower drain the other night, totally removing the metal drain grate and silently setting it off to the side...

  1. Entertaining as always. Worried a bit by the drain access point. 😁
